Abstract

Judging from the narration of Emperor Xiaowen of Han Dynasty in Historical Records and in History of Han Dynasty,we can find the differences in portraying Emperor Xiaowen in the two books and the changes in the style of writing the emperor's history.The narration indicates the direction in which people feel toward his regime before he seized the power,his thought using history as the reference,his courage and insight of harmonizing the governance.The narration of Emperor Xiao Wen by Sima Qian is very valuable for analyzing Emperor Wu Di in Han dynasty and Emperor Shi Huang in Qin Dynasty.
