"Baishou" Dance Is Not "Bayu" Dance

Abstract

Baishou Dance is the most typical folk dance of the Tujia nationality.For its origin,there is a saying that it was the ancient Bandun man folk dance ——Bayudance.In this paper,the writer discussed and compared the different times,regions,nationalities,main ideas and styles of the two dances,then drew a conclusion that Baishoudance is not the outcome of Bayudance,but came from the life and work of ancient Tujia people.
