Abstract

Objective To summarize the using experience of cardiac pacemaker lead implatation via the subclavian vein or axillary vein by landmarke body surface.Methods In total 256 patients with cardiac pacemaker implanted,the pacemaker leads were implanted via subclavian vein in 233 cases,and via axillary vein in 23 cases.Results In 233 patients punctured via the subclavian vein, 231 were successful through 1~4 times puncture.Two patients were puncture into subclavian artery and were successful via the subclavian vein later.Pneumothorax occurred and puncture was achieved via axillary vein.In 23 patients punctured via axillary vein,19 were successful through 1~4 times puncture. In 4 patients puncture was unsuccessful through 5 times operation,and then puncture was successful via the subclavian vein.In all 23 patients there was no complication.Conclusion Cardiac pacemaker lead implantation via the subclavian vein or axillary vein is safe,reliable and feasible.It is desirable via axi- llary vein when the puncture by subclavian vein is difficult.
