Comparative Experiment of Growth Performance Between Borderdale×(Small-tail Han Sheep×Mongolia Sheep) and Local Mogolia Sheep

Abstract

Advantage of Small-tail Han Sheep multiple pregnancy and nonseasonal estrous,a three-way crossing pattern was studied on Borderdale Sheep as male parent,(Small-tail Han Sheep×local Mongolia Sheep).The results showed that on 6-month age,Borderdale×(Han×Mongolia) body weight,height,length,carcass weight,net meat rate and dressing percentage were higher than local Mongolia Sheep by 4.59kg,6.33 cm,6.23cm,3.83kg,3.32kg,3.72% and 1.98%,respectively.Therefore,Three-way crossbreeding can effectively improve economic profit of sheep-rearing industry.
