Abstract

The effect of seepage flow on rock mass strength display mainly the rock mass's physical degradation and chemical corrosion as well as mechannical property's change by seepage water. And the formulate for the initial rupture strength of the rock mass under hydraulic pressures are derivated in detail according to the theory of fracture mechanics. The results are very valuable for the assessment of the stability of engineering rock mass.
