Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between artery tortuosity and subclavian steal syndrome.Methods Seven patients presenting with vertebrobasilar ischemia were examined with Transcranial Doppler(TCD).Cerebral angiography was explored for patients with reversed flow of vertebral artery montoring by TCD.Results In senven patients,five had subclavilar artery tortuosity,two had vertebral artery coiling.Six cases had dizziness or vertigo of vertebrobasilar ischemic symptom,one case manifested syncope.Artery tortuosity may be associated with congenital factor in one case,six had history of hypertension,tortuosity may be related to atherosclerosis.Conclusion Artery tortuosity is one of causes for subclavian steal syndrome patients.
