Abstract
To investigate the bacteriostasis mechanism of silver nanoparticles, the growth, morphology and ultrastructure of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus were analyzed. Results showed that obvious bacteriostasis effects were observed when 400 μL 0.2 mmmol·L-1 nanoparticles(AgNPs) solution was added into Escherichia coli solution(600 each/mL) above 37℃.Better bacteriostasis results could be obtained when more AgNPs and longer time were applied. It was also found that AgNPs were more efficient towards Staphylococcus aureus.
