Abstract

The eddy current braking is based on the fact that eddy current will be induced in a conductor when it moves through the magnetic field at a high speed, which tends to hold back the conductor.A discal eddy current braking experimental apparatus is developed. The apparatus can be used both in teaching and research to study the interaction between the eddy current and the conductor, and the dependence of the braking force upon the magnetic field.
