Abstract
Line and arc interpolation are the most basic methods in numerical control system, the performance of interpolation algorithm directly affects machining speed and precision. This paper introduces the data sampling interpolation algorithm method of the line and arc's base principle, and analyses their error.A improved arc interpolation algorithm that is approached with chord line was proposed by using polar parameters. This improved algorithm avoids the interpolation value over quadrant problem in the interpolation process, which is simple, intuitionistic, and easy to realize. The computing time can be shortened and the machining precision can be increased by using this method, and provides a design method of NC system interpolation software.
