Effect of taurine on broiler performance and immunity

In this experiment,0,0.05%,0.10%,0.20% taurine were added to diet in four experimental groups respectively.Effect of supplemental level of taurine on broiler performance and immunity was studied.The results were as follows: addition of 0.05%,0.10%,0.20% taurine could increase the performance on broiler,addition of 0.10% taurine to broiler diet was the best,and the effect was better in 0-3 weeks old broilers than in 3-6 weeks old broilers.Addition of 0.10%,0.20% taurine improved the development of bursa and spleen significantly in 3 weeks old broilers,and also improved the development of thymus but the effect was not significant.In 6 weeks old broilers,addition of 0.10%,0.20% taurine improved the development of thymus and spleen,the development of thymus was significant;but the development of bursa was inhibited.The concentration of serum globulin in experimental groups added with taurine was higher than that of control group in 3 weeks old broilers,which increased immunity of whole body.
