Abstract

With the emergence of Green Politics,Post-Materialism and the rise of new social movements, the political ecology of western society is undergoing profound changes such as the trend towards de-ideologicalization,greenization,and the obscuring of the rank between officials and citizens.Social demands are transcending ideological divide, making sub-political issues more important in the western policies. All kinds of political parties are breaking through the traditional bottom line of ideology, which makes ideological division between one party and another gradually obscured, thus enabling them to accept green claims, ecological politics and cooperation politics so as to break the political landscape controlled by the left or the right with the rising of the middle power.Citizens' autonomy is developing rapidly, which means citizens have the same functional authority as the officials, while it has become the normal state that officials lean to treating themselves as an ordinary citizen. The trend in the evolution of political ecology of contemporary western societies embodies the political development in the post-industrial society.
