Abstract
[Objective] The aim was to explore the suitable planting density for Zhoudan 8.[Method] The effects of different planting density on production and agronomic traits of Zhoudan 8 were studied with 7density treatments, repeated 3 times.[Result]With the increase of planting density, production of Zhoudan 8 showed a trend of increase after decrease first. The maximum production was 9 148.15 kg/hm2 when planting density in 60 000 plants/hm2.The regression equation was as follows: Y = 3 392.184 76 + 1 881.396 667X-159.318 306 9X2.With the increase of planting density, ear height, plant height, stem empty rate increased, double spike rate and stem diameter decreased, the lodging rate unchanged.[Conclusion] The optimum planting density of Zhoudan 8 was 58 500 plants/hm2,the highest theoretical yield was8 946.08 kg/hm2.
