Abstract

The optimal conditions for spectrophotometric determination of antimony in crude indium with malachite green were inves tigated. In the medium of 2-3 mol/L HCl, Sb? with malachite green could form a stable green ion association complex which could be extracted by benzene. The maximun absorption wavelength was at 635nm with apparent molar absorptivity of 8.57×10~4 L·mol~(-1)·cm~(-1) in the selective condition.Beer's law was obeyed in the range of 0-10 μg of Sb? per 10 mL .This method has been applied to the determination of antimony in crude indium with satisfactory results.
