Empirical Analysis of the Contribution of Yunnan Higher Education to the Economic Growth

Based on the related data of 1999-2008 in Yunnan province,a mathematical model of Cobb-Douglas production function is used to calculate out that the expansion of higher education in the past 10 years has contributed to the economic growth of Yunnan economy by 0.75% in Yunnan,but the contribution rate of its economic growth is below the national average and the surrounding neighboring provinces,which has much to do with the extensive growth mode of Yunnan economical growth.Therefore,Yunnan higher education should focus on changing the strategy of the economic growth and take an overall improvement for its employees as an important foundation for promoting economic development.
