THE IDEOLOGY OF THE DECLINING ARISTOCRAT IN ZHANG AI-LING'S WORKS

After being deliberately ignored for nearly 40 years, ZHANG Ai ling and her works have for a second time found favor in the readers' eyes and regained positive assessment among relevant scholars since 1980s. In the studies of ZHANG Ai ling, Taiwan and Hong Kong have gone one step ahead, but the scholars on the mainland are now deepening their studies. On the basis of these, and in order to further explore the dimention of her unique characteristics, this paper focuses on the discussion of the cause of the formation of the ideology of the declining aristocrats of ZHANG Ai ling, a descedant of the last generation of the aristocrats in China, and the discussion of how this ideology run through her literary creation and penetrate into the psychology of her main characters, so as to reveal the unique artistic individuality of her works.
