Abstract
The Economics of Higher Education has flourished during the last several decades.Based on a study of various strands of literature in this area,the paper summarizes five major topics in the study of Higher Education Economics as follows: the economic returns of higher education,the demand for higher education,production and costs of higher education institutions,higher education market and competition,and academic labor market.Clearly,many topics deal with important policy issues in higher education in the United States.
