Abstract

Objective To investigate depression status in stroke patients.Methods Hamilton depression scale(HAMD) was used to assess 73 hospitalized patients of stroke and 40 healthy persons.The total and factor score of the HAMD were compared between groups. Results HAMD total score and factor score were significantly higher in stroke patients than healthy persons(P0.01).Conclusion More stroke patients experience significant depression.
