Abstract

Nanosized zirconia with pure monoclinic phase supported on γ Al 2O 3 as well as on anatase TiO 2 was prepared by sol depositing method The crystal size of such supported zirconia is about 5?nm as deduced from the XRD line broadening TEM observation shows that these primary grains form spindle agglomerates dimensioned ca 50?nm, which are uniformly dispersed on the supports The universality of the method adopted here indicated that it likely could be used to prepare monoclinic zirconia supported on other supports
