Abstract

[Objective] The research aimed to study the inhibition of orange peel against several kinds of plant pathogenic fungi.[Method] By using the mycelium growth rates, the inhibition was measured.[Result] The petroleum ether extracts, ethyl acetate extracts and ethanol extracts had notable inhibiting effects on the different fungi tested at 0.01 g/ml.The inhibitory rates of the petroleum ether extracts, ethyl acetate extracts and ethanol extracts on Valsa mali were all above 90%.The inhibitory rates of the ethanol extracts and the ethyl acetate extracts on Botrytis cinerea, the ethyl acetate extracts and the petroleum ether extracts on Pythium aphanidermatum, and the extract of petroleum ether on Alternaria alternate were all above 70%.[Conclusion] Orange peel had inhibitory components to plant pathogens.
