Abstract
In order to understand and master the principles of natural vegetation restoration on the abandoned quarry,the plant community structures of vegetation at an early natural recovery stage on the abandoned quarry in Xiaojiashan Mount were investigated in April and August,2007.The results show that the plant community life spectrum showed that the environment in the area was very droughty;the same species in the plant communities showed a similar trend with the thickness of the soil in the site types.Soil is the main limiting factor to natural vegetation recovery.
