Abstract

Objective To observe the incidence and clinical features of serosity macular detachment secondary to retina vein occlusion(RVO).Methods Ninety-six consecutive patients(97 eyes) with central retinal vein occlusion or branch retinal vein occlusion from May,2005 to April,2006 in our hospital were collected. All the cases accepted fundus fluorescein angiography and optical coherence tomography examination, and the results were analyzed by software. Results Serosity macular detachment ocurred in 48 eyes of 97 eyes (49.48%),in which the range of the retina thickness was 66~937μm with an average of (293.21±56.26)μm.In most cases, the detachment area was confined to the central fovea of macula, and which in 4 serious cases with subretinal hemorrhage reached the inferior vascular arcus at the margins.Among the cystoid macular edema associated with RVO cases,53.03% was involved in serosity macular detachment. Conclusion The incidence of serosity macular detachment secondary to RVO is higher than that in previously reported, which appears to be one of the major factors leading to vision descending.More attention should be given to the patients involved in this condition.
