Abstract
The p-tert-butylcalix [4] arene was synthesized based on condensation of p-tert-butylphenol with formaldehyde. Through chemical modification of its phenolic hydroxyl group a novel sulfur containing intermediate calix [4] arene derivative exhibiting chemical activity was gained. And a series of novel calix [4] arene derivatives could be obtained by reaction with compounds pendant active hydrogen.
