Abstract
Objective:To investigate the application effects of two peripheral vein inserted central venous catheters(PICC) in peripheral central-vein indwelling.Methods:100 patients with tumor were separated into two groups:65 in group A and 35 in group B.PICC catheters provided by B.Braun AG(Germany) and ARROW(USA) were peripherally inserted in central vein. The catheters indwelling and use were observed in groups. Results:There were statistical significances in one-pass rate for the indwelling, intraoperative hemorrhage amount, pain and operation time in the catheters indwelling between groups(P0.05).There was a significant difference in service time between groups. However,no significant difference was seen in phlebitis, swelling of limb, catheter's blocking, infection and prolapsus between groups(P 0.05).Conclusion:PICC can be applied in routine chemotherapy and nutritional support treatment of tumor patients.Different PICC can be selected according to course of treatment, blood vessels condition and economic status of patients.
