Abstract
After exploiting the wind data of 70 m height wind measurement site in Songmenshan-Jishan wind farm and the average wind speed data of Duchang Weather Station for nearly 20 years, wind energy characters of Songmenshan-Jishan area were detailed calculated and analyzed, meanwhile, the feasibility of the wind re source development in this area was evaluated. The result showed that: At all th e levels, northerly winds prevailing throughout the year, the dominant wind dire ctions are N and NNE, in these two directions, the wind energy accounted for abo ut 90% of the total wind energy. At the height from 30 to 70 meters, the turbule nce intensity and wind shear is small. The average wind power at 50 and 70 meter s are 302.8 and 326.7 w/m2, and the percentages of effective hours are 73 to 76% , in this area, the wind energy resources is abundant. In the end, this area is valuable to develop wind power.
