Abstract
Based on structural analysis of the essential factors associated with theNoctiluca scintillans red tide in Dapeng Bay, South China Sea, a model on Nocritliucascintillans - diatom - nutrien t interaction is constructed Some criteria for the cause o f redtide are derived from the model by using a qualitative analysis method of differential equation. The result of numerical modelling on the observational data in Dapeng Bay duringMar. 1, 1991 - Apr' 30, 1991 is also given.
