Abstract

History has proved that Miao nationality believes in ghosts and witchcraft.Its ghost-god worship falls into various sub-worships with their own traits like multi-soul worship,god-ghost combination worship,multi-god worship,the worship of first ancestor Chiyou and totem god Panhu with some prominent witchcraft color.As cultural prototype,the essence of ghost-god worship is the origin of Miao's spirit .A modern interpretation of ghost-god worship of Miao nationality should rely on Marxist view of religion with Chinese characteristics.
