Abstract

In the current U.S. economic difficulties, the United States concocted the rumour of the RMB revaluation and forced the RMB to revaluate. Actually U.S. is trying to contain China and pass the buck to China in its absolutely domestic affairs. In fact, after a long continuous reform, the RMB exchange rate at this stage has already entered a relatively reasonable and stable state of operation. Overall, the current RMB exchange rate is compatible, with China’s economic development and suitable for China’s opening up policy and economic development. Therefore,at this stage,we must pay attention to keeping the RMB exchange rate relatively stable, and keeping the progressive nature of the RMB exchange rate reform as well. In response to the pressure of RMB appreciation,China is required to adhere to the principle of sovereignty of exchange rates, and to actively push forward the strategic imports,to improve investment and the structure of foreign exchange reserves,to encourage Chinese enterprises to invest abroad, and to strengthen dialogue and consultation with the international community.
