Abstract

Objective To study the effect of casein phosphopeptide-stabilized amorphous calcium phosphate solutions(CPP-ACP) and sodium fluoride(NaF) on micro consistency of artificial enamel subsurface white spot lesions after remineralization in vitro. Methods Extracted premolar teeth for orthodontic reason were immersed into lactic acid gel to prepare artificial white spot lesions. Then the specimens were randomly assigned to three groups: control group,CPP-ACP group,NaF group. The micro consistency of enamel surface before and after treatment was measured by type MH-5 durometer. Results The micro consistency in CPP-ACP group was obviously higher than that in control group(P0.05) and no significant difference was found when comparing with the NaF group(P0.05).Conclusion Casein phosphopeptide-stabilized amorphous calcium phosphate solutions can reduce enamel demineralization and promoting remineralization in vitro.
