The Due Position of ZHANG Dai-nian in the Philosophy History of China in the 20th Century

ZHANG Dai-nian was one of the few great philosophers who created Chinese-and-Western-combined philosophy system and established his own school of thought. He had tried growing and developing modern neo-materialism philosophy system in the soil of traditional Chinese thoughts of materialism and dialectics, having opened a new road for the exploration of localization of Marxist philosophy in China. And he took a scientific and rational attitude to modern Western philosophy and all other wisdom results of mankind, integrating persistence in Marxism with development of it. The road he advocated for, the comprehensive creation and “3 flows in 1” with Marxist philosophy as the basis and guide of Chinese philosophy, Western philosophy and Marxist philosophy, although was not realized fully in Chinese philosophy history of the 20th century, has been so far the right and realistic direction for Chinese philosophy to develop.
