Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of integrated intervention on HIV/AIDS among men having sex with men(MSM)in Guilin, and provide scientific evidence for the prevention and control of HIV infection among MSM.Methods Intervention measures such as health education about AIDS,promoting condom use and HIV test were carried out among MSM and anonymous questionnaire surveys were conducted before and after the one-year intervention. The effect of intervention was analyzed by SPSS11.5 statistical soft-ware.Results A total of 315 MSM were involved in the first survey and 346 in the second one. After intervention, the awareness rates of AIDS-related knowledge among the MSM were increased significantly(P0.05),the condom use rate among them at each homosexual or heterosexual activity increased significantly(P0.05),the voluntary HIV counseling and test rate among them increased significantly too(P=0.000),but the changes on male sex partner number, anal intercourse behavior, and self sex orientation were not obvious. Conclusion The integrated intervention on AIDS related high risk behaviors among MSM was effective by stabling MSM rooms, conducting survey in places where MEM met, peer education,QQ communication and social support.
