Abstract

The characteristics of POSS and the three kinds of basic synthesis methods for POSS monomers were introduced.The recent progress of polymer materials(such as polyolefins,polyacrylates,polyimides,epoxy resins,etc) modified by POSS were reviewed.Meanwhile the applications of POSS modified polymer materials used as flame-retardant materials,heat-resistant materials,optoelectronic materials,and membrane materials and so on were summarized.The development trend of POSS-based hybrid materials was also pointed out.
