Heterogeneous database integration is not only the classic problem of database fields,but also the hot spots in today's information technology.Research and development of heterogeneous database integration system has an important significance to the elimination of Information island in university,the maintenance of between different departments data consistency and integrity,improving the sharing of data and reducing data management costs,etc.This paper expounds heterogeneous between the various database properties,puts forward the problems to be solved when the design of Heterogeneous Database Integration and the principles that should be followed,summarizes the main methods of integration of heterogeneous database,and analyzed the existence of heterogeneous database integration problems and the challenges facing in current.
