Application of ITS in the Road Transportation of Dangerous Chemicals

Now highway has become the main transportation style for dangerous chemicals. Due to the existence of uncertain factors, accidents occur very frequently in the road transportation of dangerous chemicals, and have been much concerned about. Many unsafe factors have been limited or weakened by applying the ITS. If this system was applied to the road transportation of dangerous chemicals, chemical accidents would be prevented and reduced effectively. An intelligent system of road transportation of dangerous chemicals is proposed, which is composed of the safe transportation administrative level, infrastructure layer, common information layer and the service layer. The framework of intelligent system of the road transportation of dangerous chemicals is studied, and the application of ITS to the road transportation of dangerous chemicals has been discussed and the relevant solving measures are put forward.
