Evaluation on life quality of the long-term survivor with nasopharyngeal carcinoma after radiotherapy

? Objective To evaluate the life quality of the long time survivor with nasopharyngeal carcinoma and the side effect of radiotherapy.Methods Patients with nasopharyngeal who had survived ten years after radiotherapy were investigated by mesns of questionaire on difficulty in opening mouth,dysacusis,dysopia,open rhinolalia,cariogenesis and sexuality.Results 108 cases wereinvestigated.All of them suffered the complications caused by radiotherapy.The most common complication was carigenesis (73.15%).Most of the patients did not suffer from serious complications.They were satisfied or quite satisfied with the conditions of their life (99.1%).Conclusions Although the over 10 year survivors with nasopharyngeal carcinoma are in a good condition of life,some complications caused by radiotherapy should be prevented by medical care.
