Creative Character and Cultural Resources of Arthur Shiwazi

Arthur Shiwazi is not only the founder of Donggan's written literature,but also the representative of the highest achievement with Donggan's poetry.His writing possesses a unique style in the world Chinese poetry for his special use of language.The form and content of his poems brought fresh style to the poetry during his time.Besides social reality in Soviet Union and his Muslim cultural background,three main cultural resources could be found in Arthur Shiwazi's poems: Russian main stream literature;the surrounding sub-cultures,such as Kirghiz,Kazakh and Tartar cultures;Chinese culture took the most significant position in his creation.Identifying themselves with Chinese culture is the important reason why Donggan people differentiate themselves from neighbor Muslim ethnic groups and thereby have never been assimilated with them and remain distinct among more than 120 ethnic groups in Central Asia.
