A Preliminary Study of Kant’s Definition of Moral Subject

The definition of moral subject is an important issue in Kant’s moral philosophy. Through the use of the generalization strategy, Kant puts the foundation of moral philosophy on the concept of rational fact, thus defining the moral subject from different aspects in his works. This article aims to discover some of the relevant features and problems by tracing Kant’s thread of argument, and to give some analyses of the features of moral subject in Kant’s philosophy.
