Abstract
[Objective] To study the clinical characteristics and nocturnal polysomnography in female and male patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS) . [Methods] The cross-sectional research was used in OSAHS patients. Investigated the difference in age, clinical characteristics, sleep structure,apnea-hyponea index, hypoxemia between female OSAHS patients and male OSAHS patients. [Results] There were no differences in sleep structure, and snore index(P ﹥0.05) . Age,body mass index, clinical symptom, upper respiratory tract obstruction, pathogenetic condition, lowest saturation of blood oxygen(LSaO2) between two groups had statistically remarkable differences(P﹤0.05) . [Conclusion] Compared with male patients, female patients with OSAHS are generally older, with lighter state of illness, and clinical symptoms are not obvious. In clinic,it should note the gender differences in order to avoid misdiagnosis of female patients.
