Abstract

Objective:To observe the therapeutic effectiveness and safety rate of mosapride in the treatment of functional dyspepsia (FD). Methods:168 patients with FD were randomly divided into 2 groups. 102 patients of the treatment group were given each 5 mg of mosapride, PO, t.i.d.. 66 patients of the control group were given each 10 mg of domperidone, PO, t.i.d.. The course of treatment in both groups lasted 4 weeks. Results:The total effective rate in patients of the treatment group was 89.2%, which was significantly higher than that(58.1%) of the control group(P0.01). 2 weeks after the beginning of treatment, the chief clinical symptoms in patients of the treatment were found to remit strikingly. After 4 weeks of medication, remission of symptoms in patients of the treatment group was obviously better than that at the second week of treatment (P0.01). Remission of all clinical symptoms except vomiting was more prominent in patients of the treatment group than that of the control group (P0.05 or 0.01). Conclusion:Mosapride was shown to be a safe and effective drug in the treatment of FD.
