Abstract
Objective To investigate Combination therapy of amblyopia in older children and its effect. Methods The total of 62 cases(90 eyes, aged from 10 to15) were selected at random from the patients with amblyopia and observed the relationship between the effect of Combination therapy with age, amblyopia type and amblyopia extent. Results 35 are recovered in 50 eyes(70.00%)in the group aged from 10 to 12 years old and 22 are recovered in 40 eyes(55.00%) in the group aged from 13 to 15 years old, statistically significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).Distinct statistic difference was found among groups with different severity of amblyopia(P0.01);ametropic amblyopia got better effect than anisometropic amblyopia and strabismic amblyopia(P0.01).Conclusions Most amblyopia in older children can be cured with persistent treatment and the effect correlated with the type, severity and age.
