Abstract

In the past,lyric and poetry were the same.Nowadays,though lyric have separated from poetry as an independent literary genre, the two still exists in close relationship.It is not rare to see that poetry might be the lyric,or vice versa.The poetic spirit exists in modern Chinese lyrics in three presentations,i.e.when set poetry to music,poetry becomes the lyrics;ancient poetry may be translated into modern lyrics;the original lyrics presented as poetry.
