Abstract
In order to study the cavitating flow in a centrifugal pump,the numerical simulation of steady cavitating turbulent flow in the whole flow passage of a centrifugal pump has been carried out by using a full cavitation model and a mixed two-phase flow model.Based on the simulation results,the region and the degree of cavitation occurring in the flow passage of the turbine are respectively,predicted with a large flow,a low flow and a design flow.The effects of the flow on the cavitation performance of the turbine are specially examined.The simulation results can provide valid reference for the cavitation performance of the turbine.
