Abstract
A geographic information system (GIS) based computer decision-making support system for Shanghai urban power distribution network planning is proposed, of which the overall structure and function design are described. Through an application example in certain region of Shanghai, the models, functions and main planning results in each module of the proposed system are presented. Considering daily business of planning in utilities and making good use of the existing resource of utilities’ information systems, the system is designed and realized with the latest computer technology and the professional distribution network planning technology. So the proposed system can optimize the planning results of urban power distribution network, as well as reduce the manual work of planners evidently. Comparing with traditional planning software, the proposed system is more rational and practicable, which lays a good foundation for information-oriented planning, daily-frequent planning and elaborate planning.
