Abstract
A kind of Ti-Fe-Ni-C and Ti-Fe-C system composite powder for reactive plasma spraying were prepared by precursor carbonization process using ferrotitanium as raw materials.TiC/Fe-Ni and TiC/Fe metal ceramic composite coatings were synthesized and deposited by Reactive Plasma Spray(RPS).XRD,SEM and EDS were employed to analyze the compositions and microstructures of these composite powders and coatings.Microhardness and wear-capacity of the two coatings were measured.The results show that the powder is uniform in particle size and without any impurity;the composite coatings by RPS are composed of layers,in which the round TiC particles are dispersed within Fe and Fe-Ni solid solution alloy matrix.The TiC/Fe-Ni coating has more compact structure and show higher Microhardness and better wear-capacity than TiC/Fe coating.
