Abstract
The primary cause of vibration overtesting is associated with the difference of impedance between mounting structure of test item and shaker, and the practice of enveloping acceleration spectra to generate a vibration test specification.A way to solve this problem is to limit the force between test item and shaker in vibration test, namely force limited technique. Its key techniques consist of calculating force spectrum, force measurement, fixture design, and vibration control stratege. In this paper, the development of force limited technique in foreign countries is reviewed. The key techniques of force limited application are introduced. The application prospects of force limited technique in vibration testing of spacecraft in our country are given.
