Abstract
Abundant Ordovician fossils are found from the reef-and beeche-beds in the Tarim Basin. This paper des-cribes the upper Ordovician stromatoporoids of Well 822 in the Tazhong area of the Tarim Basin. They include 9 species referred to 7 genera as Pachystylostroma,Cystistroma,Labechia,Rosenella,Argostroma,Ecclimadictyon and Clathrodictyon. All these stromatoporoids show as stratiform, crusty, crumb or spheral shapes in the rocks. They formed bound stone and frame stone, and are the main organisms of the reef.
