Analysis of earlier age of menarche among girls in primary schools of Changchun City

Objective To understand the girl age at menarche in advance in Changchun City,and explore the relationship between the situation and the height,diet and heredity respectively,so as to give them physiological and psychological health guidance.Methods A total of 1 039 girl pupils(Grade 4-6) from a key primary school of Changchun City were investigated with questionnaire and the data were analyzed statistically.Results The minimum age for menarche was 8.6 years.In Grade 6,121 girl pupils had menstrual period with 29.66% of the whole,and the average age was 11.10 years.In Grade 5,25 girl pupils had menstrual period with 8.17 of the whole,and the average age was 10.80 years.In Grade 4,6 girl pupils had menstrual period with 1.84 of the whole,and the average age was 9.10 years. Conclusions The menarche time of city girl appears gradually in advance,which has the correlation with the height and diet,but has no obvious correlation with genetic factors.
