Abstract
The torsional vibration of the transmission system is one of the most important resources of vehicle NVH(noise, vibration and harshness) problem. As a complex system, the transmission system involves non-linear gear meshing,as well as the elastic deformation of the driveline and half shaft. To solve the problem, this paper firstly analyses the nonlinear gear meshing based on dynamics of gear system and the Hertz elastic theory. Then a simulation model has been built with non-linear gears meshing of a transmission, two elastic drivelines,a differential, two half shafts and two tires. The dynamic characteristics have been investigated with the model. At the end the torsional vibration of the transmission system under speeding-up condition and comparisons with a real vehicle results are studied.
