Abstract
The mixed initial-boundary value problem for the equation of relativistic strings moving with the inhomogeneous Neumann boundary conditions plays an important role in the string theory and particle physics. This kind of mixed initial-boundary value problem with Neumann boundary conditions is studied in the first quadrant.Under appropriate assumptions on the initial and boundary data, the global existence and the uniqueness of classical solutions are obtained.
