Abstract

Jiangqing divides Confucianism into the Mind and Nature school and the Political school.Owing to the differences of their initiators, characters, objects and functions, two schools must keep the paralleled structure and control human's mind and state politics respectively. But the Analects tells us that the Confucianism is the unity of enlightening substance and realizing function. This means a man ought to learn knowledge about his life firstly and go back to his original substance by his activity in order to reach the mandate of Heaven and experience this transcendent sphere. Then he must practice it in ordinary life including serving other people, the community, the state, and other creatures to return the Heaven. In conclusion, the theory of Jiangqing has three errors,at first,Confucianism can not be divided into two schools without inherent relationship.Secondly, there doesn't exist the Mind and Nature school which doesn't apply itself into the politics in history. Finally, the political school only has the function but without the substance,so it will lose its function at last.
