Abstract
The important influence factors of impact damage resistance and damage tolerance of composite laminate structures were analyzed and summarized on the basis of studies of authors and predecessors in this aspect, combined with the existing methods for improving impact properties of carbon fibre reinforced polymer matrix composites (CFRPs). Residual compression after impact ( CAI ) strength is focused in damage tolerance of composite laminates. The effects of these factors were discussed.
